Fat Transfer Procedure
While having too much fat in areas of the body is a common frustration that many people experience, other men and women find themselves desiring fuller, plumper areas of their bodies that are thin, deflated, and unshapely, whether because of genetics or life events. The good thing is that there are cosmetic procedures that can add volume to these areas of the body to help give patients the fuller figure they desire.
Using implants is a common way to improve the volume of specific areas of the body and face; however, fat transfer is another approach to increasing the fullness and shape of the body and face.
With natural fat transfer in Miami, Florida, you can achieve a fuller, healthier, and more youthful appearance without the use of implants or temporary dermal fillers.
Dr. Hadeed will explain the details of your procedure during your consultation. He will go over any questions or concerns you may have to best achieve your desired results.
Schedule A ConsultationHow Is Fat Transfer Performed?
Fat transfer is a three-step treatment that is performed under general anesthesia. Depending on the extent of the procedure, your fat transfer can take anywhere from one to four hours to complete.
Step One: Fat Harvesting
For the first step in the fat transfer procedure, Dr. Hadeed will use liposuction surgery to extract (harvest) fat from an area of your body that has excess fat (usually from the abdomen, hips, thighs, or posterior arms). A small incision will be made in the targeted donor areas, and a thin tube called a cannula will be inserted through the incision to loosen and suction out the subcutaneous fat.
Step Two: Fat Purification
The harvested fat will be washed, and the intact fat cells will be separated from any damaged cells and excess fluid. The whole and intact cells are then collected to be used in the third step of the procedure.
Sometimes, Dr. Hadeed will add plasma taken from your own blood to enrich the fat and help the recovery and results of your fat transfer.
Step Three: Fat Injections
The final step of your fat transfer procedure is the actual injection of the harvested fat. The whole and intact fat is placed in a syringe and carefully injected into the deflated areas of your body to give them a fuller and more voluminous appearance.

What Will My Fat Transfer Recovery Be Like?
After your fat transfer procedure, you will likely experience some bruising, swelling, and soreness in both the donor and transferred sites of your body. These side effects will dissipate over the next several weeks, and medication can be taken to alleviate any pain that you may experience.
During your recovery, you need to allow your body time to heal itself from the procedure, which means refraining from strenuous activity and heavy lifting. Most patients are able to return to work and their normal, daily activities after 10 days.
To ensure your safety and the success of your procedure, it is important that you follow all of Dr. Hadeed’s post-op instructions.
What Results Can I Expect From My Fat Transfer Procedure?
Though you will see some aesthetic improvements to your body, both in the donor and transferred sites, it can take up to six months for your final fat transfer results to become fully evident.
Once your final results are settled, you can hopefully feel more comfortable wearing clothing (like that bikini or bathing suit) that you’ve always wanted to wear but never had the figure to pull off, and you can find yourself feeling more comfortable with your appearance, both in the mirror and out on the Miami beaches.
