Tummy Tuck In Miami, FL

(310) 970-2940 | Beverly Hills | Miami

Whether from age, genetics, improper diet and exercise, or life events, many men and women develop abdominal fat and skin laxity around their waist. This can be embarrassing, especially for men and women who want to be out on the Miami beaches.

However, tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) is a plastic surgery procedure that can give you the tight and toned midsection that you’ve always wanted.

What Can Tummy Tuck Surgery Achieve?

Flab around the abdomen can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. You may try to cover it with baggy shirts and stay away from participating in fun summer activities. But that’s no way to live, especially in a place as exciting as Miami.

That’s one of the best parts about tummy tuck surgery.

Besides having a more contoured midsection and tighter underlying abdominal muscles, you will likely gain more confidence in your body and how you look. That way, you can get out there in the sun and enjoy your favorite activities.

During your consultation, Dr. Hadeed will help you choose the options that will give you the best results for your body.

How Is a Tummy Tuck Performed?

Dr. Hadeed offers both full tummy tuck surgery and mini tummy tuck surgery.

Where full tummy tuck surgery (also known as a traditional tummy tuck) addresses excess fat and lax skin in the entire abdominal area, a mini tummy tuck only focuses on correcting issues in the lower abdomen (below the belly button), making it a less extensive surgery.

Because of this, the incisions and resulting scars from a mini tummy tuck are smaller than with a full tummy tuck.

General anesthesia is used for a traditional tummy tuck, while a mini tummy tuck may be performed under general or local anesthesia. After the anesthesia is administered, Dr. Hadeed will make an incision just above your pubic area.

The incision for a traditional tummy tuck will stretch from hip to hip and may include another incision around the navel (to reposition the belly button). Alternatively, the incision for a mini tummy tuck will only be a few inches long and will not include an incision around the navel.

Liposuction may be used to remove excess fat in the abdomen.

Dr. Hadeed will tighten the underlying abdominal muscles, remove excess and lax skin, and tighten the remaining skin. For a full tummy tuck, the belly button may be repositioned.

The incisions are then closed, and you are ready to begin your recovery process.

What Will My Tummy Tuck Recovery Be Like?

You will have some swelling and bruising immediately after your tummy tuck, though these will dissipate within a week or two. Any pain you feel can be alleviated with medication. You will also have drainage tubes placed for one or two weeks to collect blood or fluids from the incision.

Additionally, you will need to wear a compression garment for six weeks. This garment helps reduce swelling and maintain your new abdominal contours.

It is important to understand that your body has gone through a controlled injury, so you need to allow it to rest and recuperate. This means that you should refrain from any strenuous activities until you are cleared (which is usually about six weeks after your procedure).

Most patients can return to work after two or three weeks.

What Results Can I Expect From Tummy Tuck Surgery?

After your tummy tuck, you can expect to have a sleeker, more toned, and healthy-looking midsection. Though you should be fully recovered after six to eight weeks, it can take several months for your final tummy tuck results to set.

However, once they do, you will likely feel more confident and comfortable in the way you look.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tummy Tuck Surgery

Am I a candidate for a tummy tuck?

Candidates for tummy tuck surgery are non-smoking men and women in good general health but have stubborn fat and/or skin laxity in their midsection. Additionally, candidates should have realistic expectations about their results. At your consultation, Dr. Hadeed will evaluate your condition to determine that tummy tuck surgery is right.

Will my tummy tuck surgery hurt?

Because anesthesia is used during your procedure, you will not feel any pain or discomfort during your surgery. However, you may feel some soreness in the week after your procedure.

How long does a tummy tuck take to be performed?

A full tummy tuck generally takes about two-and-a-half hours to be completed, while a mini tummy tuck is usually performed in one to two hours. You should expect to be at the surgery center for up to an extra hour for the anesthesia to be administered before your procedure and for it to wear off after your surgery.

Are my abdominoplasty results permanent?

Your tummy tuck results can be long lasting, especially if you maintain a balanced diet and consistent exercise.
